Be Inspired

When we talk about academic excellence, we don’t just mean student performance through good grades; at St. Bede’s we work to enable each student to reach their full potential through their all-round development. This is one of the main reasons why St. Bede’s students are instantly recognisable as determined, thoughtful and compassionate people, always in awe of the world around them.

Friends

Throughout its history, the College has always encouraged its students to be confident and modest young people, able to make the right decisions when the moment arises and, in this way, to always do their best. The result of this path is not only seen in today’s students, but also in all those who have passed through these classrooms, so that they, then and now, are inspirational figures for all of us.

Young people face many challenges today and our commitment to them is to prepare them and equip them with the best possible tools to face whatever comes their way. One of the most incredible ways of doing this work with them is to bring them closer to inspirational characters, such as the Virgin Mary, to whom we dedicate this month especially and from whom we seek to imitate the virtues of truthfulness, temperance and faith. Throughout the month of May, the students have attended chapel to listen and reflect on Mary’s role in the life of Jesus and how her presence, although silent and prudent in the gospels, is fundamental in bringing us closer to her son.

Virgin Mary

Our mission is to inspire and encourage each of our students to change the world in their own, personal way. Being sincere, honest and loyal is a fundamental part of this process and at St. Bede’s we are always ready to accompany each student every step of the way.

Our Lady the Queen of the May

Virgin Mary

During the month of May the pupils have been in the chapel for a service of crowning Our Lady the Queen of the May. Pupils in Lower Fourth heard about how Jesus listened to His mother Mary at the wedding feast of Cana where Jesus performed His first miracle, turning water into wine. John 2: 1-11. The pupils reflected how Our Lady Role as mother is to bring us closer to Her son Jesus. The pupils placed rose petals by Her feet and the crown of flowers on her head. We finished our time together in the chapel by praying the Hail Mary in sign language. – Mrs. C Hibbert.
