Mathematics

Mathematics is at the heart of the curriculum at St. Bede’s and is taught as a core subject to all pupils from the Upper Third to the Upper Fifth. All our Upper Fifth pupils take the Mathematics iGCSE examination and some will also take the GCSE Statistics examination. In the Sixth Form we have students sitting AS and A Level modules in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics, whilst we prepare our highest achievers for Oxbridge entry. We are proud of our examination success at all levels.

We regularly enjoy success in the Individual UK Mathematics Challenge and we participate in the team challenges too. We offer as much support to our pupils as we possibly can and this includes holding various lunchtime drop-in sessions, where children of all ages can attend to receive extra help and advice with their Mathematics work.
