Physics and Geology Department

We would be lost without Physics. All the gadgets that we take for granted like laptops and mobile phones would not be here. Nor would the electricity supply that charges them and powers so many things that we use every day.

Did you know that physicists invented the World Wide Web? Physicists are constantly finding new things. They have recently shown that teleportation is possible – who knows what that will lead to in a few years’ time?

Physics also deals with the big questions. Are there parallel universes? Will we ever travel back in time? Why do we always find the smallest bits of cereal at the bottom of the packet? Find out the answers to these questions and many more.

Why study Geology? Geology is the study of the planet on which we live. In studying Geology you will gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the world around you and the trials and tribulations that have taken place to form our planet as we know it today.

Geology will open your eyes to a science with a wide array of applications and opportunities, from studying the destructive power of our planet to the ongoing search for natural resources needed in everyday life. Currently, the world is crying out for geoscientists in industry and we aim to ignite that passion for the study of the Earth through Geology.
