As part of our online, home learning, some of our pupils have been completing a project which examines careers in the music industry. One of the tasks asked pupils to have a go at mixing tracks and linking records using an online DJ simulation app. Pupils had to select songs, adjust the tempos and incorporate smooth breaks and transitions. Not an easy task!

Amelia rose to the challenge and produced an excellent mix. Mr Davies called in a favour and sent it to his friend James Hall who is a presenter on Capital FM. He commented ‘It is a great to see young people engaging with and enjoying music production. The technology available to young people today is evolving at such a fast pace and the possibilities are endless. Amelia’s mix demonstrates real musicality and it shows that she has a good feel for the tracks and a good sense of timing and phrasing. These are important skills for success in the music industry and Amelia has demonstrated these in bucketfuls.’
