On Thursday morning the whole school came together to commemorate our fallen Bedians. For the first time in two years, we had a live remembrance service in the Sports Hall, which was also live streamed into the Academic Hall for the lower school. This was the largest gathering that the school has had since 2019 and it was a sombre and fitting tribute to those Bedians who lost their lives in both conflicts.
The Senior Prefect team read out meaningful reflections on what it means to commemorate our war dead, as well as reading about some of the Bedians who sacrificed their lives during both of the two World Wars. They did so splendidly and with very little notice.
There was wonderful accompanying music by Martha, Karena, Peter and Ted, who all stepped up to play and sing in front of the entire school, an incredibly daunting task for anyone. Finally, the wreath procession was ably led by our Upper Third CFA regiment.
