The Bedian Lens: 150 Years in Focus
Mrs Roisin O’Gara – Marketing Director
We warmly invite all pupils of St Bede’s College to take part in The Bedian Lens, our 150th anniversary photography competition. The aim is simple: capture what it means to be Bedian.
What pupils need to know:
• They can submit up to two photographs.
• Each entry must include a short caption (maximum 50 words) explaining the story or meaning behind the image.
• Deadline: Friday 30th January 2026.
What they can photograph:
Anything that reflects Bedian life. Friendship, faith, community, learning, sport, creativity, quiet moments, proud moments, favourite places on campus, or even something outside school that shows how being Bedian shapes who they are.
Family involvement:
Please encourage pupils to ask their parents or carers if they were Bedians. If so, they’re very welcome to look back through old photo albums and send in any images that capture their time at St Bede’s. These will sit alongside the pupil entries as part of our anniversary celebrations.
Important guidelines:
• Photos must not be taken during lesson time.
• No using mobile phones during the school day.
• If they want to photograph something on site, they should speak with their teacher, form tutor or the marketing team, who can help arrange it safely and appropriately.
We’re excited to see St Bede’s through their eyes, and through the eyes of generations before them.
