Upper Fourth Spanish Study Holiday to the Gredos Centre, Sierra de Gredos
Kurtis, Ethan and Zachary, U4
In the October half term, we went to the Gredos Centre in Spain with once alumnos y dos profesores. The two teachers were very helpful, Mrs Reid who set up the wonderful trip and Mr Fernandez who chaperoned.
On the first day we went to Avila and bought food and some toys, then continued on into the Sierra de Gredos mountains to the centre where we stayed for the rest of the trip. It was an activity-filled five day trip with multiple beautiful views.
There was delicious food such as pollo asado, ensalada y patatas fritas, and we had kind and caring Spanish instructors guiding us through activities ranging from archery to making our own TV program in Spanish, painting T-shirts, learning to cook tortilla de patatas and we went on a long rope course, all whilst learning about the wonderful nature all around us.
One day, we went to Salamanca and answered questions on famous landmarks and found out that the buildings are made of vilamayor which is a type of rock.
We also went on an ecological walk and saw many different ecosistemas.
We improved our Spanish vocabulary as well as strengthening bonds with people in different years, building friendships and memorable moments through this amazing experience. Not only that but the scenery was truly captivating, las estrellas, la luna y el sol shining so brightly as well as the amazing architecture full of history surrounding us, dating back 500 years or more.
I would recommend it as an enjoyable trip and a very beautiful province.
¡Fue muy divertido e interesante!
