Mrs Rachael Prince – Head of Science

Between 9th and 13th March, the Prep School celebrated British Science Week with a focus on the theme “Curiosity: What’s Your Question?” From our three-year-olds to our Prep 6 pupils, everyone was encouraged to share what they are most curious about. The “Curiosity Wall” featured some remarkable thinking, with questions such as “How heavy is the sea?”, “Are all nebulas pink?”, and “Does the universe ever end?” while others wondered whether the sun or lava is truly hotter.

In addition to these big questions, the children were treated to special sessions with Mrs. Prince, Head of the College Science Department. While Pre-Prep and KS1 conducted experiments in their classrooms, KS2 visited the College labs for a closer look at the properties of dry ice. Mrs Prince helped the children explore several curious questions about states of matter, and the demonstrations were met with plenty of “oohs,” “aahs,” and “woows!” We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Prince for helping to spark so much curiosity across the Prep.
