Prep 5 Explore the Wonders of Space at Jodrell Bank

On 18th November, Prep 5 took part in an exciting and enriching visit to Jodrell Bank, providing an excellent opportunity to consolidate their learning about the Solar System and extend their scientific understanding. The pupils were particularly impressed by the iconic Lovell Telescope, a landmark in astronomical research.
During their time in the Space Pavilion, pupils explored a range of fascinating facts about science and space, deepening their knowledge of the wider universe. Their visit continued in the First Light Pavilion, where they learned about the history of Jodrell Bank and the significant scientific work undertaken at this renowned site.
Prep 5 also visited the Planet Pavilion, where the Clockwork Orrery offered a clear visual demonstration of the movements of celestial bodies. The visit concluded in the Space Dome with, where pupils enjoyed an immersive Dome Show in the custom-built, planetarium-style auditorium. Featuring a curved projection screen and nine digital projectors, the facility provided an engaging and memorable learning experience about the cosmos.
Overall, the trip to Jodrell Bank was a highly successful educational experience, inspiring curiosity and enthusiasm for science among the pupils.
