Prep 3 Visit the World Museum in Liverpool

On Wednesday 26th November Prep 3 became Egyptologists for the day as they explored the World Museum in Liverpool.

During the morning session the children were able to walk through the main gallery where they researched about the pyramids and the rulers of the different kingdoms. They learnt about the different beliefs and some of the names of the Gods and Goddesses. The highlight of the morning was undoubtedly seeing the tombs and mummies, some of which were over 3 thousand years old.

After lunch the class then enjoyed a workshop about mummification. Allegra was dressed as a priest whilst Tia and Vasik were playing the role of the slicers! All of the children were then able to join the stage and identify the body parts which were removed before the Egyptians were buried.

They were told about the afterlife beliefs and the riches that were buried in the tombs. Prep 3 had a fantastic time and their knowledge of the Ancient Egyptians was impressive throughout. It was a trip to remember!
