Lourdes Fundraiser of the Month
Mrs Mary Corbett – Head of Business, Economics and Psychology
Fundraising for Lourdes is well underway in order to support our student volunteers who are travelling with the Diocese this summer, supporting pilgrims who would otherwise not be able to make the journey. The 6th form are thinking of creative ways to raise money and as the New Year dawned and a new series of Traitors began Grace chose to run a sweepstake encouraging family and friends to get involved. There was a heightened sense of investment for those who participated as they willed their character to stay in the game in order to secure the prize fund of £50. Prizes were also awarded to the person who was first banished and the first person murdered. With the eventual winners of the show being Claire and Stephen the prize fund was shared between them….. not quite £95,700 but you can’t have everything!! Well done Grace!!!
Future events include an Own Clothes Day on February 11th which is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, where the students will be asked to wear blue in honour of Our Blessed Lady, and a sponsored 1000 mile triathlon (the distance from school to Lourdes).
Thank you to all who have supported us and continue to support us. We are incredibly grateful!
