Jubilee Week 2025

A Joyful Jubilee Week at St Bede’s College

Mrs C Hibbert – College Chaplain

Last week, St Bede’s College came together in faith and celebration for our special Jubilee Week, a truly memorable occasion as we welcomed the Jubilee Anchor from the Salford Diocese. Having travelled to every school in the Diocese, the Anchor symbolises unity and hope across our diocesan family, and we were honoured to host it here at St Bede’s.

The week began with a beautiful Opening Service in the College yard, where the whole school gathered in prayer to mark the arrival of the Anchor. This moment set the tone for a week filled with joy, reflection, and togetherness as our pupils explored what it means to be “Pilgrims of Hope.”

Every pupil completed their own booklet, reflecting on their spiritual journey and experiences during the week. These were taken home on Friday so families could share in the journey together.

Pupils from Prep 3 to Lower Fifth participated in a pilgrimage around the College campus, spending time in prayer and contemplation at different stations while the Upper Fifth and Sixth Form students came together to celebrate a special Jubilee Mass.

On Friday afternoon, our Prep 3 pupils led a moving Closing Service in the College Chapel, where we officially handed the Jubilee Anchor to Loreto Sixth Form College, continuing its journey across the Diocese. Parents and carers joined us for this special moment, filling the Chapel with prayer, song, and gratitude.

As Mrs Hibbert, our College Chaplain, shared, “This has been a faith-filled and memorable occasion for our College community. We are so grateful to everyone who took part and helped us celebrate the Jubilee with such spirit and love.”
