Spreading Christmas Hope Through Handmade Cards

Mrs Charlotte Hibbert – College Chaplain

Pupils in Prep 3, Prep 4 and Pupil Chaplains in Prep 5 & 6 have been busy creating handmade Christmas cards that will be delivered to people in our local prisons. Each card is anonymouand contains a simple but heartfelt message: that they are not forgotten this Christmas, that they are in our prayers, and that we wish them a very Merry Christmas.

This project has offered a meaningful opportunity for pupils to reflect on Jesus’s gospel message, “Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do to me.” Inspired by this teaching, the children have embraced the chance to show kindness and compassion to others. Their beautifully made cards will be passed on to the St Vincent de Paul Society, who will check and distribute them.

This act of service has helped our pupils understand the power of small gestures and the importance of keeping hope alive for those who may feel isolated. It has truly been a wonderful example of faith in action within our school community.
