European Day of Languages 2025
Mrs M Reid – Head of MFL
St Bede’s students once again celebrated European Day of Languages in style this year. All forms completed a quiz on recognising different languages, including those spoken by their teachers. The Lower Fourth participated in a morning of dedicated languages-related activities, including dancing Flamenco with Mrs Morillo, playing Boules on the lawn with Mr Gerardo and making avatars that spoke different languages with Mr Murugathas. They then attended an online workshop led by Routes into Languages, an organisation made up of local universities, in which they learnt about the importance of learning languages and heard from a panel of university students with a Q&A.
Students participated enthusiastically and asked pertinent questions. They were commended for their efforts and curiosity.

The competition resulted in an impressive array of beautifully crafted and delicious-looking baked goods, making the judges’ decision incredibly difficult!
