The final of ‘Strictly Bede’s’ was a fun filled and energetic event which was judged by a panel which included Bedian Alumnus and Lord of the Dance, James Keegan.

Every act was amazing with the dancers performing with grace, style and plenty enthusiasm, showing the benefits of their comprehensive rehearsals.. The pupil professionals produced some fantastic choreography and had clearly schooled their amateur teachers well!

Mrs Boylan (who received a standing ovation and straight 10’s, guaranteeing her win) appeared to be a professional in her own right and it was only after the event that we learnt she had danced when she attended St Bede’s! Mr Bishop surprised us all with an impromptu performance, choreographed by Bronte and Olive, this after a serious illness and only just proclaimed fully fit by his medical team. Mr Wilson was a great mover and a huge surprise, they finished second , with a very visual and energetic routine. In third place was, Mrs Sullivan ( a champion Irish dancer as a girl) and Padraigh, (James’ nephew). They had clearly been given some pointers by the Lord of the Dance himself. Matilda and Hollie, who danced alone as their teacher was injured also received straight 10’s, but sadly without a teacher they did not qualify for a trophy.
