Upper Third Infographic Presentations
How do you measure the impact of an invention? As part of the Bedian Research Programme, our Upper Third pupils have spent the past 10 weeks researching, evaluating and presenting the inventions that have shaped our world. Throughout the project, pupils developed essential skills in research, project management, critical thinking and presentation, while also learning to create professional infographics using Canva. After presenting their work in form heats, the top eight entries were selected to compete in the inaugural Upper Third Invention Infographic Awards. Congratulations to every finalist for the outstanding quality of your work, and a special well done to this year’s winner, Rupert. As a lasting recognition of their achievement, each finalist received a professionally printed souvenir book featuring their work, with their infographic also displayed proudly in the College. The Bedian Research Programme is about far more than academic knowledge: it’s about giving our students the confidence, creativity and transferable skills they’ll use throughout their education and beyond.
Lower Fourth “I am” Speech Day
Who are you today? Who do you want to become tomorrow? As part of the Bedian Research Programme, our Lower Fourth pupils took to the stage for the inaugural “I AM” Speech Day Competition, sharing thoughtful, personal presentations about their aspirations, values and the futures they hope to create.
Drawing on a year of exploring careers, financial responsibility and emotional intelligence, each student reflected on what truly matters to them and the person they are becoming.
Along the way, they developed the confidence, research skills and presentation abilities that will serve them well far beyond the classroom.
A huge congratulations to every finalist who earned their place on stage, and thank you to our esteemed judges, Mrs Bolton, Mr Mitchell and Mr Sanders, for the difficult task of selecting this year’s winner.
At St Bede’s, we’re not just preparing young people for their examinations: we’re helping them discover their voices, think independently and become confident, compassionate leaders of the future.
