Prep Sports Roundup – April
Football AJIS Prep 3 festival
Last Friday, the Prep 3 football team took part in the AJIS tournament held at St Mary’s school in Liverpool. It was the first time the group had played together as a team, but you wouldn’t have known it from their performances. From the first whistle to the last, the boys showed great teamwork, representing the school brilliantly throughout the day. They began the tournament with a strong 1–0 win against King’s Chester, with Hudson scoring the decisive goal. Next up was St Mary’s, where the team really found their rhythm, securing an impressive 5–1 victory. Joe was on excellent form, scoring a hat-trick, while Torin added two more to complete a dominant team performance.
The third match against Bolton proved to be a tougher challenge. Despite a well-taken goal from Torin, the team narrowly lost 2–1. In their fourth game against Bridgewater, the team showed great character to earn a 2–2 draw. Goals from Elias and Torin ensured they came away with a well-deserved point in a closely contested match. They finished the tournament on a high with a superb 4–0 win over AKS Lytham. Elias opened the scoring, Torin added two more to his tally for the day, and Joe rounded off the scoring with another goal in a confident and composed performance. Overall, it was a fantastic first outing for the Prep 3 team!
Sports Days
Many of the PE lessons now will focus on preparation for Sports Day. There is always great excitement for these two days. The children enjoy taking part and also love to show parents and grandparents how well they are doing. It would be lovely if you could join us to watch your child perform.
