Why Relocating Families Choose St Bede's

Join St Bede's throughout the year

A family move doesn't always fit neatly around the school year. We welcome in-year applications and consider entry throughout the year, subject to availability, from Nursery through to Sixth Form.

Life in Manchester

A Manchester school with a warm welcome

St Bede's has been part of Manchester since 1876. Today, our community brings together families from across Greater Manchester and around the world.

For a child arriving somewhere new, school can quickly become the place that makes a new city feel like home. At St Bede's, they will find friendships, opportunities and a community ready to welcome them.

How It Works

From your first enquiry to their first day

You may not have every detail of your move confirmed yet. That's absolutely fine. Our Admissions Team will guide you through the process and help you understand the next steps.

01

Start the conversation

Tell us when you are hoping to move and your child's current year group. You don't need to have every detail confirmed before getting in touch.

02

Assessment, wherever you are

Assessments and interviews can be carried out virtually where appropriate, allowing families to progress their application before arriving in Manchester.

03

Offer and next steps

If a place is offered, our Admissions Team will work with you to agree an appropriate start date around your move.

04

A warm welcome from day one

Joining a new school is about much more than admissions. Your child will be supported as they settle in, build friendships and become part of the St Bede's community, with our Admissions Team there to help your family with the practicalities along the way.
